ABOUT MARK EGGE

Egge-5065.jpg

I live in a 550 square foot "shotgun" house in Bozeman's Northeast Neighborhood. I can cook a pretty good pizza, enjoy taking photos, and my favorite day last winter involved skiing laps on the "M".

I'm a transportation planner, data analyst, and active listener. I've chosen Bozeman as my home for reasons that may sound familiar: I attended Montana State University and fell in love with the community and amazing access to skiing, running and wild spaces. I'm a trail runner and and advocate for open space, smart growth, biking, and affordable housing.

As a professional, I've held roles in executive leadership—leading an operations staff of over 100+ at what has since become the second largest pain management medical group in the United States; entrepreneurship—I co-founded Atlas Revenue Management, a medical business services company that I sold in 2015 that now employs a staff of sixteen; and, planning—I'm a senior consultant for a transportation planning firm where I work for organizations like the Utah, New Mexico, and Texas Departments of Transportation.

In my work as a transportation planner, I use data to help the agencies that build and operate America's transportation networks to achieve their goals and provide safe, reliable mobility. My transportation research has been published in the Transportation Research Record and the Journal of Public Transit.

With the City of Bozeman, I serve as a member of the City Planning Board (responsible for developing and guiding the implementation of the city's Growth Plan), and the Bozeman Parking Commission (which manages parking within the downtown area and Bozeman's permit districts). My views on smart growth have been published on numerous occasions in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
